Addressing the 15 challenges every perinatal professional faces when working with expecting or new parents…

The Becoming Us Level I Professional Training was developed to address the 15 most common challenges that perinatal professionals everywhere are having to overcome. Elly has worked with professionals from all over the world, delivering presentations, workshops and training, engaging thousands of perinatal practitioners in diverse professional roles in this important conversation. These struggles are universal! They affect parents everywhere. This unique training is our response to filling the gap and meeting the need for professionals - and for the families they care about.

IS THIS YOU?

  1. You know expecting parents ‘don’t know what they don’t know’. How do you even begin to tell parents their life will never, ever be the same again?

  2. You don’t want to burst anyone’s “baby bubble”, that’s no fun.

  3. You know you need to prepare parents for what’s to come, but it’s overwhelming. You don’t know where to start. Or finish. Or which way to go.

  4. You have too much to cover already and don’t have any extra time.

  5. Parents don’t have any extra time either. How do you convince them they need to make time for this?

  6. You’re not a relationship expert so you don’t feel qualified to talk about relationship issues.

  7. Parents are in denial. Even if you knew what to say, clients wouldn’t listen.

  8. Parents can’t see past the birth, it’s too huge for them. When you try to talk about parenthood all they can think about is the “right” thing to buy.

  9. You know from personal experience that this stuff is important, so you want to do something to at least give them the heads up, but how?

  10. You know things need to change. You want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

  11. You may know about the high rates of perinatal anxiety, depression and relationship dissatisfaction parents are currently experiencing. You know we need more focus on prevention to make a real difference.

  12. You want to work in an evidence based way. And know what you’re doing is also backed up by research. You want to be ahead of the curve.

  13. You want to work holistically

  14. You want to work according to best practice guidelines

  15. You want to provide the best outcomes for the whole family.

We have hundreds of professionals from all over the world helping new parents get the best possible start on their journeys. Here’s some of our favourite feedback.

This training has been a total game changer for me. It’s helped remove the invisible weight of feeling like I can’t help parents truly prepare for the transitionS that are coming. Now I have the tools to plant the seeds with every parent that I encounter. I can’t thank you enough!
— Ariel Marie, Birth Doula
Beautiful, insightful, and deep. Planting seeds using this evidenced based information in simple and concrete messages is so powerful. This approach opens the doors for all kinds of possibilities and opportunities to support parents, couples and families.
— Catalina Ariza, Child Development Specialist
I can’t say enough good things about the knowledge this training has provided me with. Often the focus is only on the woman and the father/parter and aspects of their relationship get forgotten. I love being able to share the foundations for a happy, healthy family with my soon-to-be parents.
— Clara Brennecke, Psychotherapist
